PODCASTS I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW
Do you listen to podcasts? If you are busy and on the go, it’s a great way to listen to inspiring stories and learn from some incredible humans. Podcasts are convenient because you are able to start and stop whenever you need to and can be heard on a variety of platforms through multiple devices. My preferred method of listening is through iTunes in my car during my commute time and on my Bose box in the morning while I’m getting ready for the day. Sometimes, I’ll listen while I’m making dinner or cleaning up around the house. Depending on my mood, I rotate between 10-15 different shows. There are a few I’m loving most right now, here are a some of my thoughts about what each podcast uniquely brings to the table (in alphabetical order):
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard If you are offended by profanity don’t listen to this one, it’s not for you. I reserve this podcast for evenings or in-between time when I just want to zone out and have a good laugh (with headphones! it's NOT kid-friendly). The hosts are hilarious together. Even though the discussions are laid back interview style, I always find a good nugget of wisdom about human behavior in there too.
Commune This is a new one for me and I’m loving the variety of topics and guests. It’s a learning platform for personal and social well-being topics, everything from human behavior to mental and physical health. I love the exposure to different experts I can further research to learn more about.
Don't Keep Your Day Job This motivational podcast has a variety of guests who share their success stories and obstacles along the way. Her focus is centered around what it takes to make a brave, bold move in your life to turn your passion into a profitable business.
Ed Mylett He has some incredible guests on his show. I prefer him when he interviews over solos shows but regardless he has great topics on life, leadership, and all things personal growth related. He’s fired up with energy and the content is excellent!
Goal Digger Podcast This is online marketing expert, Jenna Kutcher sharing very tactical advice and knowledge. Everything from business marketing strategies to motivational stories about entrepreneurs. I always have a notepad close by when listening to this one!
HPX Podcast This is Brendon Burchard’s new podcast with his wife Denise. Most of the episodes are other experts top podcast episodes. They are focused on how to live a high performance life. Everything from mindset to physical wellness, the interviews are super informative and inspiring. It’s a great resource to get a sample of other podcasts out there.
Oprah's Super Soul Conversations Need I say more? It’s Oprah. She has all the experts on here and the interview style makes it easy to listen. I particularly loved her series with Eckhart Tolle, it’s a DEEP dive so if you’re up for it, it’s worth a listen.
Rise Podcast This is Rachel Hollis’s podcast and she’s a firecracker of energy. I enjoy the episodes when she interviews other people. Her guests include a variety of entrepreneur’s you might not have heard a lot about before which is interesting. The flow of the show is easy and fun to listen to. Many of her guests share inspiring stories of how they got where they are today.
The Life Coach School I’ve just started listening to this one so the jury is still out. As a coach, it’s a good resource to learn how someone else organizes and delivers their content. A lot of the topics are relevant to personal growth.
Why Not Now? With Amy Jo Martin Amy’s guests share stories about the pivotal moments in their life when they went from having an idea or dream to action. The guests range from household names to people I haven’t heard of before, all of which share a common story of courage that allowed them to jump into action. With a background in PR and online marketing strategies, she also offers a current relevant perspective on this digital world we live in.
I listen to podcasts at least two hours a day, always while doing something else (driving, cooking, cleaning, getting ready in the morning). I learn a ton and it turns a mundane activity into a learning opportunity! There are millions of podcasts out there, everything from self-help topics to comedy shows.
