USE THESE 5 Q'S TO STRIKE GOLD WITH CLIENT REVIEWS
“What makes you great at what you do?”, I ask to a room full of service professionals in a Communicating Value class I’m teaching. Quick scan of the room, and… 🦗🦗🦗 [cue the deer-in-headlights look]. You'd be floored by how many people couldn’t clearly and confidently answer the question!
Maybe you’ve heard (and believe) in the power of creating a strong UVP (Unique Value Proposition): a clear and articulate explanation of what you offer, who it’s for, and how it’s different or better.
But instead of focusing on what makes you uniquely special, you’d rather distract yourself with adorable Golden Doodle reels on Instagram. I feel you and you’re not alone.
Today, I’m sharing a couple ideas to get your creative juices flowing so you can give your UVP a proper glow-up:
1. Ask for feedback from real clients you serve.
2. Mine your feedback (testimonials) for ✨gold✨.
Testimonials—actual real-life feedback from the people you serve—can be a powerful resource to glow up your UVP, discover the language your clients use so you can use it too (and attract the right people to your business).
Summer season seems to put a little extra pep in people’s step, sounds like a fabulous time to ask for feedback--make June your feedback month!
But first, (in case you need to hear it), this is your invitation to address the inside chatter that might be saying:
“It’s been way too long, I can’t reach out nowww!”
“I don’t know what/how to ask.”
“Things didn’t go as planned, what if they say something I don’t want to hear?!”
Let’s turn the volume down on that narrative.
What’s the worst thing that could happen by asking for feedback after some time has passed?...You don’t get a response! You’ve survived harder things.
Don’t know what/how to ask? I’ve got you. My current 5 Fave Review Q’s are right here.
Afraid you won’t like what you might learn? They will be thinking what they think, either way. There’s value in knowing all the feedback, the good and the hard stuff. Feedback provides insight so you can adjust where you see fit, and it gives you an opportunity to repair the relationship. Again, you’ve survived harder things.
What are clients saying about working with you?
What stands out to them about the unique experience you provide?
How have you surprised and delighted them?
When we ask better questions, we get better answers.
Now go out there and capture new feedback by asking my current 5 Fave Review Q’s, review those old testimonials, mine the ✨gold✨ and glow up your UVP!
So, what makes you great at what you do? Reply and share it with me, I’d love to hear! As always, stay open, brave, and on-purpose.
