THE 4 P's of PRODUCTIVITY DURING COVID-19 & BEYOND

[maximize] PERSONAL CAPACITY:  Meet yourself wherever you are.  Each of us has a threshold for managing difficult times based on our emotional and physical capacity.  Our ability to navigate challenge is often shaped by past experience, prior learning and adaptation of tools and practices, and greatly influenced by the responsibilities of our personal circumstance.  There is no better time to adopt new practices and tools to help increase your overall well-being.  If not now, when?  Make time for meditation or alone time, move your body every single day, fuel your body with what it needs to show-up for you, commit to a consistent sleep schedule each day.  Your ability to serve others is in proportion to how well you are showing up for yourself!

PLACE: Consistency is key.  For many of us, working from home is a new experience. The environment in which we show-up to work each day is everything to productivity.  Find a consistent, (mostly) quiet place to set-up your "office" and visit your space at the same time each day.  Whether it's at a desk in a separate room or a corner of the kitchen table, be consistent and have everything you will need in the space.  Selecting a table or desk to work from over lounging on your bed or couch can help improve your energy and focus.  Communicate with others in the house about when you will be "working".  Be flexible, these are challenging times and we are all navigating new waters together.

PRIORITIES:  Do fewer things with more focus.  Small, consistent wins have big impact. What are your vital 3 accomplishments each day?  Choose 3 priorities for your personal well-being (emotional and/or physical) and 3 for your business.  These are your non-negotiables.  Regardless of what happens throughout the day, if you can successfully complete these top 3---you've won the day!  Communicate your top 3 to your coach, your manager, a coworker, or a friend.  TELL someone and you're more likely to stick with it.  QUALITY > QUANTITY, my friend!

[more] PRESENCE: For you and for them.  The greatest gift we can give to ourselves and those we serve is our full presence.  Staying with the reality of what-is, right now, in this season (not a what-if story of the unforeseeable future). When we are present, we can better focus on doing what we can with what we have. How can you be all-in on presence when you are engaging with others? Before your call, Zoom meeting, whatever the engagement, take 5 deep cleansing breaths, think about them and their family, think about what you can ask about their experience and how you can help. Set the intention for how you want to show-up for them.  In uncertain times, people need validation and acknowledgement more than ever.  The greatest gift we can give right now is to allow them to feel seen and heard.

BREATHE.  Narrow your focus.  Keep showing up!
