TOP 10 QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE THE NEW YEAR

December 01, 20212 min read

Hello first day of December!  I hope this email finds you full (both literally and metaphorically) from the holiday weekend.  This is the time of year when many of us are business planning and life planning in preparation of a new year.  Before you map out what’s next, take a moment to pause and reflect, download your experience from the year.  Decide what you will take with you and what you'll leave behind. This week, I’m sharing my top 10 questions to reflect on for the year.

Grab your journal, your favorite pen, and join me!

Before we look back, there are two important things to remember—

1. Bring a mindset of compassion and curiosity for growth.  2.  You do not need to arrive with all the answers, reflection is where you begin to discover them. Come as you are.

Where have I been invited to grow and stretch this year?

Two things I can be grateful for this year are…this feels important because…

When I look back at 2021, what I for know for sure is…

What have I noticed in myself?  Others?  My business?

What will I leave behind in 2021?

What will I take with me into the new year?

In two years from now, what will the story of 2021 say about my life?

Who/What will best support me moving forward?

What skill or habit am I going to learn or level-up professionally?

What skill or habit am I going to learn or level-up personally?

Maybe, you can hardly remember what you ate for dinner last night let alone life from earlier this year? I get it, try this.  *Pro-tip:  Set time aside to review your calendar and photos.  Grab your phone or planner to review meetings, events, and experiences you made time for this year and note--what commitments made an impact?  Scan the photos on your phone to help jog your memory, this can be a fun trip down memory lane!

Life moves quickly.  Reflection is an invitation to slow down so we can download the good stuff.  A practice that connects and pushes us to expand so we can better share our light with the world.  As always, stay open, brave, and on-purpose.
